How Does It Work – iBlue Immobilizer
The iBlue Immobilizer is a smartphone-controlled vehicle immobilizer device. Utilizing the most recent Bluetooth Smart technology, it provides you with peace of mind through comfortable use and greater vehicle security.
How does it work?
Upon turning the ignition key, the iBlue Immobilizer prevents starting of the vehicle until you (or an authorized person) approve it using the smartphone application.
Simple installation, invisible protection
Your vehicle mechanic or electrician can typically install the iBlue Immobilizer within 30 minutes (subject to type/make of vehicle). For car installation, it is recommended to install the device within the passenger compartment and, more specifically, in the control circuit of the starter (to block the engine). Device communication occurs via Bluetooth Smart technology, so there are no visible switches, surfaces or keyboards inside the vehicle. There is no external sign whatsoever to hint that your vehicle is equipped with an immobilizer.
Secure technology
The iBlue Immobilizer uses a Bluetooth Smart connection that is extremely difficult to detect, making it more secure than immobilizers using traditional radio frequency. The protection system uses 128-bit coding, similar to encryption used for bankcards.
Operation modes
The immobilizer has two modes of operation: normal and service. In normal mode, entering the correct PIN code enables start up. The permission is valid until the ignition is turned off. In service mode, the immobilizer automatically enables start up when the ignition is turned on (no PIN code needed).
Application
The smartphone app required to operate the immobilizer can be downloaded from the App Store (iOS), Google Play (Android).
